The
St Marys Mite Girls Fastball team completed their Huron/Perth Fastball season
this past weekend at the year-end tournament in Stratford.
The Mites maintained first-place through most of the season but finished second after losing their last game of the year to the Mitchell #1 team. Unfortunately, despite some great plays, great efforts, and great attitudes, the weekend did not materialize as the Mites had hoped and they failed to advance out of pool play.
St Marys had a fantastic season creating many new friendships and developing new skills all while promoting good sportsmanship throughout the season. The Mites represented St Marys with pride with every player contributing equally to the team’s success. The 2015 Mites consisted of: Ava Ansley, Kaitlyn De Boer, Erin Green, Grace Hillman, Natalie Johnston, Sarah Lynch, Billie Sedley, Rebecca Sleeper, Jillian Sterkenburg, Angelina Vanderwal and Karissa Waghorn. Coaching Staff included: Crystal Sperin (Head Coach), Dale Johnston (Assistant Coach), Wayne Sterkenburg (Base Coach), Tammy Lynch (Base Coach) and Carly McEwen who volunteered her time helping in many different roles.
