Eight Batters Reach Base
After a rainout on Tuesday evening, the St Marys Norampac Squirt Girls Fastball team travelled to St Petersburg on Wednesday to take on Baden #2 in Huron/Perth Fastball action.  Of the seventeen batters St Marys sent to the plate for the game, eight made it on base including three in the top of the second inning with the Squirts trailing 5 - 0.  Karissa Waghorn drew a walk followed by a single by Kaitlyn DeBoer.  Nicole Rock was then hit by a pitch to load the bases with only one out, unfortunately the next two Squirt hitters struck out leaving the bases full.

After two complete, St Marys found themselves down 10 - 0 as Kaitie Gratton drew her second walk of the game in the top of third.  Hayden MacDonald followed with a base-on-ball, then with two out Sarah Lynch hit a double cashing in Gratton and MacDonald putting St Marys on the board but still trailing 10 - 2.  Grace Hillman took first as she was hit by a pitch but was stranded there.  Baden added five more runs in the bottom of the third to hand St Marys the loss at 15 – 2.

On Tuesday July 5, the Squirts host Sebringville at Teddy’s Field then travel to St Agatha to take on Baden #3 on Wednesday July 6.
