Baseball Spring Training
St. Marys Minor Ball will begin its 15th consecutive year of free baseball instruction for boys and girls. Instruction will be provided for beginners as well as experienced players.The clinics will take place on the following Friday evenings at the St. Marys DVCI highschool gym:March 10, 24, 31 and April 7, 21, 28. Players that are Rookie level and under (9 and under) will train from 6:00-7:30pm and players Mosquito level (10 and up) will train from 7:30-9:00pm.

The clinics will be headed by local St. Marys coaches Derek Boonstra and Scott Crawford.“The snow is gone so it’s time to start the ball season” states Scott Crawford.Players should come dressed in comfortable clothing and bring indoor shoes and a baseball glove if they have one. Parents are asked to please ensure that their child’s name is on all equipment. St. Marys Minor Ball will provide the necessary additional equipment.Even though there is no fee, please pre-register at [email protected]. As there are expected to be more participants than ever this year St. Marys Minor ball is looking to bolster the number of adult volunteers.

Since 1850, the building at 155 Queen Street East has proudly served the St. Marys community and surrounding areas. The brick-faced stone building which currently occupies the address was built in 1882 by Sidney Fraleigh and has operated as a pharmacy since 1913. The McIntyre family were the pioneers of what would eventually become Hubbard Pharmacy. In the late 1960s, after the McIntyre's, the pharmacy became owned by Al Duesburry and later by Ron Sage. In 1989, upon the passing of Mr. Sage, Hubbard Pharmacy got its name after being purchased by Dwayne and Cathy Hubbard. In 2016 Erin Dunbar became a partner, and in March 2020 Hubbard Pharmacy was purchased by Erin and David Dunbar.
