Squirt Girls, 2016, U7 (St. Marys Minor Ball)

The St Marys Norampac Squirt girls completed their Huron/Perth Fastball regular season this week with a 19 – 5 loss to Tavistock # 2.  This was a rescheduled game that got tacked onto the end of the regular season as a result of a rainout in June.  

It was a very busy week for the St Marys Norampac Squirt Girls Fastball team as they had three games in three days.  After a loss on Tuesday in Tavistock, followed by a loss in Shakespeare on Wednesday night, the Squirts travelled to Ingersoll on Thursday in a battle of the basement.  With both teams tied for last spot in the Huron/Perth Fastball League, the stage was set for some competitive ball.

After a rainout on Tuesday evening, the St Marys Norampac Squirt Girls Fastball team travelled to St Petersburg on Wednesday to take on Baden #2 in Huron/Perth Fastball action.  Of the seventeen batters St Marys sent to the plate for the game, eight made it on base including three in the top of the second inning with the Squirts trailing 5 - 0.  Karissa Waghorn drew a walk followed by a single by Kaitlyn DeBoer.  Nicole Rock was then hit by a pitch to load the bases with only one out, unfortunately the next two Squirt hitters struck out leaving the bases full.  

 After a rainout and tournament two weeks ago, the St Marys Norampac Squirts returned to Huron/Perth Fastball action last week still looking for that illusive first win of the season.  On Tuesday, the Squirts hosted Shakespeare at Teddy’s Field and the visitors scored their maximum allowable runs in each of the three innings as they downed St Marys 15 – 10.  Ava Ansley and Sarah Lynch shared the pitching duties in the loss.  Picking up hits were Lynch (single and a home run), Karissa Waghorn (double and single), Grace Hillman (double) and Kaitlyn DeBoer (single) with RBI’s going to Lynch (4), ...

In Huron-Perth Fastball action, the St Marys Norampac Squirts hosted a pair of the games this past week at Teddy’s Field.
